Posted by admin under Blog

Since the introduction of online degree programs, more and more colleges and universities offer online degree programs with subject areas range from business to nursing, degrees from Bachelor to MBAs and Ph.Ds. Online degree programs enable busy people to pursue their degree from any places and at their own schedule.

But, with the rapid growth and high demand in online degree programs, many fake online degree programs have been introduced by unaccredited online universities. Mistakenly earning a fake online degree definitely will not help in your educational journey. Thus, if you are considering online universities for your degree or career training, there are a few important points to consider in choosing your online degree offers by online university. This article will lists down 8 of them for your reference:

1. How long has the universities been established? While a short educational history is not a red flag, a long-standing position in the educational committee is a sign of institutional security and reputability.

2. Is the online university accredited? Accreditation ensures a basic level of quality in the education you receive from an institution. It also ensures your degrees will be recognized for the true achievements they are. Most potential employers review a job applicant's educational history to make sure that he or she has received his or her education from a college, university, or program with accreditation. If your degree, diploma, or certificate comes from a school without accreditation, it could hurt your chances for future employment.

3. What is the institution's financial history/current position? Beware of fly-by-night operations that may not be in business next year!

4. What other expenses are associated with your selected online degree course? Many online degree programs may require you to attend some hours of physical classes or lab works. Thus, the online universities may assess additional items such as technology fees or lab costs.

5. Does the coursework of your selected online degree program meet your educational goal? Taking irrelevant courses may waste your time and money. Ask for a list of coursework of your selected degree program and review it against your educational goal before you decide to sign up.

6. How current is the course material? Ask for a list of current textbooks or other learning materials to ensure they are current and relevant.

In conclusion, get as much as information on your selected online university's program and review it to see whether it is truthful in its advertising and recruiting and the most important is whether it meet your education need and career goal.

Tail Wagging and Search Marketing

Is the tail wagging your dog? In the online business world, Social Media is allowing the consumer to effect how business approaches marketing. By sharing opinions about their customer experience they are having an influence by speaking their mind and voting their preferences.

As more consumers become social media users, website marketers need to understand how to react and apply  this input into the promotion process.  The goal being not only to promote our Search Engine Placement Services but also to deliver to the end user what they have come to expect from their website experience.

In the book “User Driven Change” by my friend Carlos del Rio, and Jeff Noethen, it discusses Usability Testing.  Specifically as it applies to changes made to a website.  Using prototypes of designs and testing them with customers before putting the changes online.

If your website is marketing a service you want the end result of the person visiting to be some type of action, which can be called a conversion or completion of the goal of having the website in the first place.

Make sure your goal or conversion is well defined so that you can lead a visitor to the end result you want them to take in a clear easy to follow path.  Can they find your content easily? Are they staying engaged or bouncing off a page quickly?

Tracking how a visitor comes to your site, how long they stay how many pages they visit can give you an understanding of how your website is or is not answering the expectations of the visitor.

    * Flow: How difficult is it for users to navigate through your site the first time they visit?

    * Ease Of Use: Is there any part of the design that is frustrating visitors? Is there any roadblocks between the customer and the result you are trying to lead them to?

    * Recognition: Is the navigation through the website where the visitor expects it to be? Are they finding the information that answers the query they used to enter your site?

    * Errors: How many errors do users make, how severe are these errors, and how easily can they recover from the errors? If you are having them fill out a form and they make a mistake, can they back out of the mistake without losing everything?

    * Satisfaction: How pleasant is it to use the design?

Analyzing these aspects of your web page design help you break out and deal with the problem areas.  You have to identify your target market and watch for changes in the user experience over time.    Just because it works well when you first implement your web design, does not mean you’re finished. The way searchers find you changes, keywords used to look up your product change and the users in your target market can change as they get more adept just using the internet.

As you plan your presentation to your target audience, plan to incorporate these principles into your Search Engine Placement campaigns and into your Web site or landing pages.

Your ultimate goal is that your website visitor experience and your Search Engine Placement work together.  It won’t help to go through the effort required to achieve High Search Engine Results if the searchers bounce right back off the site because it was not the clear answer they were looking for.

Just as an example, say you have a band named, “Black Rose,” and your website gives all kinds of information about your music, your albums and your tour information.  Then your Search Engine Placement Services help you rank on the first page of search results for, “Black Rose.”  How many gardeners do you think will click through to your site and stick around very long? None.  As people have become more familiar with using the internet they have become very adept at backing off sites that didn’t match their search expectations.

Search Engine Placement without any regard to Website use and how it answers the search query is a waste of time and money. Many business people think they will automatically get the increase in business they desire just by ranking higher in search results. They don't understand how closely tied a highly usable site are to Search Engine Placement Services.

If your website has the content people are looking for, you will be more likely to get the conversions you want and people will want to link to that content. This is link building at its most basic.

What's good for the human visitor will also be good for the search engines. Their goal is to also create a great user experience. Delivering visitors to a Website that builds on that experience will put you on good terms with search engines.

When we think of education, we think of studies. And when we think of studies first picture that comes to our minds is that of an exhausted student, sitting behind a pile of books, trying hard to solve maths problems. But now the scene is changing. It is time to change our perspectives!

“Online studies are much more interesting. It is amazing to actually discuss things on voice chat and practice on screen simultaneously!” says Stephen cheerfully. Yes! It’s the world of e-education. Online tutoring has given a new look and feel to studies. Unlike the one-way teaching module in traditional school set up, online tutoring is a two-way learning process. It is a platform wherein a student can interact with a teacher online and learn by discussion. Student is free to ask anything to the teacher, be it from the prescribed syllabus or beyond it. With the help of voice enabled chat and white board the discussion and practice session becomes all the more productive.

In America, online tutoring has emerged as a saviour for the quality-education starved student community. There are a wide range of services being offered by tutoring companies. Ranging from K-12 to college and pre-collegestudies, preparations for standardised tests like GMAT, GRE, SAT, career counselling, developing education modules and many more … you just ask for it and they have it ready for you. Companies like TransWebTutors (transwebtutors.com), Tutor Vista, and Smart Thinking are now known for the quality of services provided. “It’s only with the help of my online teachers that I have been able to convert my ‘C’ grade into an ‘A’ grade. They make me so comfortable withstudies that I do not hesitate to ask about any queries” says Arthur, a delighted student of tenth grade. The customer base of online tutoring companies is getting full of such delighted students day by day.

Due to the recent regulations of American government, the education standards have been increased. No Child Left Behind Act has made the American schools more serious about their quality and performance standards. As a result, online tutoring is now being encouraged in schools itself; especially to help the poor performing students improve their act. It is really a boon for the Americaneducation sector.

Online tutoring is proving to be a strong source of help for students. It has empowered them with the flexibility of time, and freedom to study anything at anytime. One night before the exam if anystudent needs help, he cannot contact his home tutor or school teacher, but he can definitely contact an online tutor. Even on regular days, students have the liberty to schedule theirstudies as per their requirements. Early in the morning or immediately after school, after watching a football game or after coming back from a birthday treat… whenever they plan to study, their teachers are available just a click away! Moreover, due to outsourcing options available to the American tutoring companies, the prices charged by them have been slashing day by day. The cost of an online study session may be as low as $18 an hour. Now this is like icing on the cake. “My son was advised to take personal tutoring sessions to improve his school grades. He loves to study online and I am happy I can provide him the services at home because it is much more affordable for me now” says Mr. Martin, a thankful parent of fifth grader.

Online tutoring is really changing the face of American education. It is adding a new dimension. It is giving us the new perspective of education!

The latest news to come out of the sell to rent market is that new FSA rulings will come into force at the end of June 2010. These rules will be imposed by the Financial Services Authority following an investigation by the Office of Fair Trading. While there are many decent and honest companies out there who offer homeowners the chance to sell their homes to avoid repossession, others have been found to use exploitive measures and high-pressured sales techniques. In short, some have been preying on homeowners who have few options left to them if they wish to remain in their homes.

The new rulings will be aimed at companies such as these as the FSA protect those who are faced with the dire situation of losing their homes. It can be all too easy to forget about the small print and believe in such a company offering you the chance to stay on in the property for life by paying affordable monthly rent. The company is throwing you what they often call a lifeline and a win-win situation and many desperate homeowners of course jump at the chance. Those who sell to ethical and well-established companies may get the deal they thought they were getting, but others have fallen into a devious trap, which has seen them faced with large rent increases which they eventually struggle to meet. Some also believe they can stay in the home for as long as they want only to find they have a short term rental agreement which in some cases has seen individuals evicted after as little as six months.

Now firms offering sell and rent solutions have to apply for authorisation, need to be approved, and will then be regulated under the watchful eye of the FSA. So how might those considering selling and renting back their homes benefit?

One of the problems with sell and rent back schemes is that some companies offering them put emphasis on the fact that individuals can sell their homes fast to avoid repossession. Homeowners that have exhausted all other options may be tempted to sign papers without reading them thoroughly and rush into the agreement only to regret it when things do not go as they were led to believe. One of the new rules will be the introduction of a "cooling off" period. This will allow homeowners the chance to think things through and provides them with time to read agreements and legal documentation before signing.

Companies offering homeowners the chance to sell their home must act in the best interests of the homeowner, check, to ensure that they are offering a deal that is right for the consumer, and make sure that the consumer can afford to enter into the agreement proposed.

Last year there were over 1,000 companies offering sell to rent back deals and so far only 80 companies have applied to the FSA for authorisation. If you are considering selling your home to avoid losing it to repossession then ensure you choose one of the 80 that are regulated by the FSA. Be very wary of any companies that cold call, or who provide what may be false hope with quotes such as "rent your property back for life"

Advantages of In-Home Tutoring

If you are thinking about in-home tutoring for your child you are not alone. There are many people that use this method to get their child back on track. In addition, this type of tutoring also allows for you, the parent, to take a step back. In many cases, a child will simply be reluctant to work with a parent to improve their school work. But the second that a tutor comes into the picture they are much more willing to cooperate.

Listed below are just a few of the advantages that go along with tutoring in your own home.

1. The most obvious advantage of this tutoring is that your child will get the attention that they need without ever having to leave home. For many people going to a center or library for tutoring is no big deal, but why do this if you can have the tutor come to you? With in-home tutoring you will never have to rearrange your schedule to meet the needs of the tutor; they will work with you and your child to find a time to meet.

2. With in-home tutoring your child will be able to learn in an environment that they are comfortable with. Some children are so overwhelmed at the fact of working with a tutor that they do not do well at an offsite location. By having the tutor come to your home your child will be much more stress-free which will in turn help them learn more effectively.

3. In-home tutoring can help your child out with any subject that they may be struggling in. Some centers only specialize in subjects such as math or SAT preparation. But when you hire a tutor to come to your home, you can tell them what you need and they will work with you to get the job done. The larger tutoring services that come to your home have plenty of tutors to choose from meaning that regardless of subject matter you will find somebody to work with.

4. In-home tutoring can save you money in more ways than one. Not only can you save on the sessions themselves, but you will also save on time and gas money. You will never again have to leave work to drop your child off at tutoring or be forced to drive out of your way.

Overall, in-home tutoring is an option that you should consider if your child is struggling in school. Even though there are other options that you can rely on such as learning centers, the individualized attention of tutoring in your home will ensure the best results for your child. How to Choose a Private Tutor

Posted by admin under Blog

Author: ActiveUnlimited

There are many things you should look for when choosing the right private tutor. Sometimes though it will come down to trying various tutors out and seeing which one works best with you. Outlined here are the characteristics you should look for and the steps you should then take to ensure you've chosen the right person.

Choosing your tutor - Male, Female?

If you're choosing a tutor for your child, be aware that with all the best intentions you and your tutor may have, children can take an instant unwarranted dislike to new adults in their home. Your child may relate better to male teachers than female teachers or vice versa. Ask your child which they would prefer as they will then feel involved and it will become their decision to select the tutor rather than it being forced upon them. It can be very difficult to judge how a person will get on with your child without actually trying it. We encourage our clients to try our tutors out, if they don't work out with the children there's usually another tutor available to take over. There's a fine line between perseverance with a tutor that isn't getting on well with your child and giving up too early before a tutor is able to make a "breakthrough". We all know how stubborn children can be!

Experience and Qualifications

Depending on the level of private tutoring you are looking for you will obviously have different experience and qualifications requirements. Qualification checks are the one way you can be sure that your private tutor knows what they're talking about. For primary school all you really need to look for is someone with either a teaching degree or a university student (undergraduate) that has a great rapport with children. The way to find out if they're good with children is usually through word-of-mouth. Our tutoring service has online feedback for all our tutors so look for something like this if you are going through an agency. The higher the level of tutoring you are looking for the higher the qualifications requirements will be. If you are studying for a degree you will probably be looking for a post-graduate tutor who is specialising in your subject. It can be difficult to check your tutor's qualifications so we recommend you go through an agency that's reputation is hinged on providing high-quality tutoring services and will have checked these kinds of things out for you.

Experience is more important with younger people as experienced tutors will have devised ways of keeping focus and disciplining your child covertly! A friend of mine rewards her children with biscuits which makes them extremely attentive and willing to listen! As with anything, expect to get what you pay for. Highly experienced private tutors generally will charge a premium for their services. There really is no substitute for a highly experienced, qualified and reliable private tutor.

Location/ Availability

Try to pick a private tutor that lives fairly close to you. Traffic delays, especially if you live in a built-up area, can be frustrating for both parties. The closer the tutor is to you the easier it will be for them to arrive on time. Make sure that your tutor's availability doesn't clash with other pre-arranged activities. Childrens diaries are so full these days that it's easy to mix up booking times. Try also to pick a time that leaves enough breathing room for your child either side. The last thing your child wants to do is walk in from school and straight into a home tutoring lesson! It also shouldn't be too late at night as tiredness has a big impact on concentration levels.

Reputation/ Word of mouth

The most compelling motivator to selecting a private tutor is a positive referral. If you can find a tutor that has great feedback from others, especially from your own social group then you're on to a winner! If you know someone that is using a private tutor, ask them if you can sit in on the lesson and watch it. The tutor may be uncomfortable with this so be sure to check with them first. First-hand experience is the best way of choosing a tutor that's right for you.

How do I know I've chosen the right person?

When you have chosen a tutor for your child, be sure to sit in on the lesson if possible. If this is proving distracting to your child then talk to them afterwards and ask them to go over what they covered. Reinforcement of the things they have learned is a proven technique in improving memory skills. Showing an interest in what your child is learning can result in your child taking much more interest in the subject themselves. The proof of the pudding is in the eating so you should see a marked improvement in confidence at school or grades in exams. Private tutoring can be expensive so make sure you are getting good value for money.
